Leap of faith

I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing a story of an answered prayer with you.  I’ve been holding on to this piece of information for a while now, but the desire in my heart has been years in the making. God is so good!

For years I wondered what God was up to, I understood the importance of contentment and growing, learning and blooming where I was planted while embracing the seasons of my life no matter how difficult, but still there was a nudge and pull on my heart that was calling me to something different. I just didn’t know what that was…until now.

I believed it and trusted God for it, and He answered my prayers. Friends, don’t ever underestimate God’s ability to answer our prayers and provide us with more than we could ever hope for. He is a God of miracles.

I could walk you through my experiences throughout the years that have ultimately led me to this decision, but I’ll just sum it up in two simple, yet powerful words: Answered prayer.

A few months ago, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue what God was calling me to do. I can’t begin to explain it, but it was clearly guidance from Him. Something clicked in my heart this year, I realized I could continue living the “comfortable” life, or I could intentionally seek out opportunities for God to move more freely in my heart. All of this involved surrender and stepping out of my comfort zone. God showed me exactly what to do and revealed to me the steps to take. It all happened so quickly, I was in awe as I watched it all unfold before my eyes!

**I decided to resign from my career of 8 years and accept a job opportunity overseas!** (For those of you who are curious to know more details, and know me on a more personal level, I’m happy to share the details with you, just send me a message). 🙂

For starters, this isn’t about me, or even my journey…it’s about what God can do in our lives and hearts in our seasons of waiting on Him.

Waiting on Him is never wasted time. He is actively, purposefully and carefully preparing all the details of our lives and our stories to connect us with Him. Everything should point us back to Him.

It’s difficult to say how God will work things out, but we can be sure that He is working on our situation. He is always good, no matter what, trust Him. It won’t always make sense, but trust the process.

Nothing in life is perfect. I don’t expect or anticipate perfection, but what I do know is this, I am embracing an opportunity I could not refuse. It was time for me to move on and time for a change. It was time for a new environment, time for new challenges and time for me to stop living in comfort and fear. As life opens new doors and new opportunities, I am led to take a giant leap of faith and embrace this amazing opportunity and answer to prayer. I have peace, joy and a feeling of “readiness” for this next adventure

As with anything in life, we don’t have all of the answers, we don’t know what the future holds, there are no guarantees—this helped me make my decision.  I feel so strongly this opportunity is from the Lord, but I don’t expect it to be perfect or easy.  Today, I choose joy, nothing is holding me back, nothing is stopping me from embracing this opportunity. I could allow fear to hold me back, I could let comfort be my “stability”, but what life has taught me is that nothing blooms out of comfort zones or fear tactics: fear is a liar.

For those of you who know me well, I’m a firm believer in following your dreams and blooming where you’re planted when it’s done with purpose, vision and care.   We all have one life to live and many opportunities to make an impact. For me, it was time for the next adventure in life, God decided it was time for me to be transplanted and I’m so ready! It’s in this season, and in this moment that God has answered my prayer after a few years of waiting and wondering. I did not know what it would look like, I did not know why I had to wait for so long, and I still don’t know what the future holds.  It’s in our seasons of waiting and growing that we take our most giant leaps forward.

If you feel God calling you somewhere or you know that nudge is from the Holy Spirit, I would encourage you to focus on that and in faith and in fervent prayer watch Him move through your obedience and faith. It is so incredible to see Him move when we step out in faith!
