I’m not sure what you may be going through today, I’m not sure what’s heavy on your heart, but I do know this; God wants you to go to Him first.
There are so many distractions in life, so many opportunities to take our minds and hearts away from our relationship with Christ. It can begin with something small, an interruption almost undetectable that train us into thinking the world can fix our problems, but it can become something that robs us of our time alone with Him.
What or who is stealing your time away from the Lord?
Here’s a bit of encouragement for anyone who feels overwhelmed.
The Bible tells us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV).
The Lord wants us to set aside time with Him. He wants us to find rest in Him. We need to be intentional about setting aside uninterrupted time with Him. He understands that life can throw us many curveballs and keep up very busy, but nothing in the world will fix or satisfy our needs until we learn how to seek Him first and make Him a priority.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33, NIV).
Resting in Him will always awaken our hearts and jumpstart our faith.
